Soekarno

The first president of this republic was born on juny 6, 1901. he was a leader of this country's struggle for independence from the Netherlands. He wanted this country not to depend on other countries and to be self-sufficiency. That's why he developed his trademark social self-sufficiency called Marhaenism, named after a farmer pak Marhean. This farmer owened a piece of land and worked on his own land to provide income for his family. Soekarno was also one of the famous orators in the world. His powerful speeches enhanced the sense of nationalism in many Indonesian people
